sub-editor; also Northern Star and Ulster Examiner with
McKenna; fined and jailed for contempt of court; started Belfast Vindicator,
and The Citizen (a weekly, and an evening paper); fnd. People’s
Advocate in Monaghan, 1876; ed. Belfast Morning News, 1885-86;
sons and daughters also on paper staff; poems for Dundalk Democrat,
People’s Advocate, and Northern Star; edited anthology,
The Red Hand of Ulster (Monaghan n.d.), whch includes six
