Notes
In Guilt and Glory (1979) is a roman à clef; An Irish journalist,
touring an America film crew through Ireland, is exposed to his own hypocrisy
by a black American journalist lady; Irish politics and literary society
are viewed askance; Ireland must face up to maturity in an international,
secular, not-inspirational world; the hero, unsatisfactorily married,
conducts his seductions from quotations from a pocket selection of Yeats.
