Dublin; commanded Fingal Battalion of Irish Volunteers; attended wounded at Ashbourne, Easter 1916; arrested and sentenced to death; sentence commuted to twenty years' penal servitude; released, June 1917; re-arrested and imprisoned in Reading Jail, 1918; elected MP for Limerick, 1918; took Treaty side, 1922; resigned from the Dáil to concentrate on work, 1924; appt. director of the Abbey Theatre, 1934; became dispensary doctor for Donnybrook, Co.
