Life
1879-1956; b. Greenock, Scotland; came to Belfast in 1882; worked as house-painting
and sign-writer, and other employments; made a trip through Europe, 1904;
briefly attended Belfast School of Art; Psychological Satyr or The
Hounds of Hell (1928); Why (1935); exhibition of sculpture,
paintings, and drawings at Magee Gallery, Belfast, 1935; his painting
Creation of Man is in Armagh Co. Museum; there is a sef-portrait
in Ulster Museum. DUB.
