family; BA Harvard, winning Charles E. Horman Prize in fiction writing
whilst undergraduate; MA John Hopkins; winner of a Henfield/Translatlintic
Review Award for Creative Writing; issued The Early Arrival
of Dreams (1990), an account of her year teaching in China; spent
1991 in Ireland, travelling and interviewing prominent Irish women including
President Mary Robinson, Ruth Riddick, Mary Dorcey, Mary O'Donnell and
Eavan Boland, Whoredom in Kimmage (1990), being an account of this
