and 1823; disliked by DUM journalist for his pro-Reform politics;
regius professor of Greek, and Provost of TCD, 1837-51; buried in vaults
of TCD; one of the first commissioners of funds for education of poor
in Ireland; Sermons and Lectures preached in the Chapel, TCD (1821-24);
National Schools for Ireland defended in a Letter to Dr. Thorpe
