successively Calvinist, Methodist, Baptist, and Sandemanian preacher;
refused entrance to Southcottians, 1814; styled own church Zion or Shiloh,
1827; preached in North of England, 1829-37; published tracts, treating
biblical narrative as allegory, 1829-37; left hundreds more in manuscript.
